Much-loved Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls Chef Schulz to return

Anthony Garden1Logan, Ohio – The Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls announced today that Anthony Schulz has rejoined the Inn’s staff as Executive Chef.  After seven years at the Inn, the gifted Chef Schulz left in March 2013 to help revitalize the Hocking College Culinary Program and serve as Executive Chef for the college’s full-service restaurant, Rhapsody. There, Schulz taught culinary students classic cooking techniques, sharing with them his depth of knowledge. Schulz will now return to work with Innkeepers Ellen Grinsfelder and Terry Lingo, developing new seasonal menus. He will oversee all dining at the Inn, including preparation and ingredient procurement, as well as leading many of the Inn’s signature cooking classes. Working closely with Inn Gardener Kellie Hutchison, Schulz will design menus that feature fresh, in-season ingredients grown on site.

“The Inn at Cedar Falls has long enjoyed a reputation as one of Ohio’s best country inns, due in large part to the unforgettable culinary experiences it offers,” said Schulz.  “Returning to work at the Inn with Ellen and Terry truly feels like home. I’m excited to plan a variety of unique culinary events for our guests, as I love being visible and connecting with our visitors on that personal level.”

With more than 20 years of experience in all areas of the food and hospitality industry, Schulz attended the French Culinary Institute in New York City, graduating in 2003.  He has also worked for famed New York caterers Tentation Potel et Chabot and Blu Spoon Catering, where he put his culinary skills to work preparing food for such blue-chip clients as Trump World Towers, Cartier Jewelers and the New York Metropolitan Opera. In addition to his impressive pedigree, Schulz also brings extensive knowledge of wine and food pairings to Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls guests. He uses seasonal and fresh, local products to create exquisite food.

“We are so pleased to again have Anthony at Kindred Spirits,” said Innkeeper Terry Lingo. “He is very talented and focused on using the freshest local ingredients to create a bright, healthy cuisine, which we’ll feature on our new menu.  Both his skill and the pride he takes in the dishes he prepares were incredibly popular with all of our guests, and we’re thrilled to have him rejoin our team.”
