UTICA, OH – Velvet Ice Cream announced today that two new delicious flavors will arrive in stores and at Velvet’s Ye Olde Mill April 13. Just in time for those greatly anticipated hot summer months, the ice cream makers introduce Summertime Peach and Buckeye Brownie, a play on a fan-favorite, Buckeye Classic. More information and a full list of Velvet products is available at VelvetIceCream.com.
A refreshing treat, Summertime Peach boasts a delicious blend of Velvet fresh peach ice cream peppered with juicy chunks of real peaches. Buckeye Brownie is a new twist on one of Velvet Ice Cream’s top-sellers, Buckeye Classic. Delicious and slightly salty peanut butter ice cream swirled with chunks of creamy peanut butter and gooey brownie pieces. Beyond its Buckeye confection inspiration, the name pays homage to Velvet’s home state of Ohio and the company’s support of the National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes.
“Our new Summertime Peach flavor is a refreshing treat that’s perfect for summer, while Buckeye Brownie is a rich, gooey new way to enjoy that favorite combination of chocolate and peanut butter,” said Velvet Ice Cream President Luconda Dager, the fourth generation of the Dager family to operate Velvet Ice Cream. “We’re excited to continue adding new flavors and proud to create the delicious ice premium-quality cream that our customers have enjoyed for more than 100 years,” Dager added.
2015 marks 101 years of business for Velvet Ice Cream. Founded in 1914 by Joseph Dager, four generations of Dagers have since run the company, which is located in Utica, Ohio on 25 acres of the perfect combination of wooded countryside and rolling, pastoral farmland. Still family-owned and operated, Velvet produces and distributes more than five million gallons of ice cream every year from its headquarters on the grounds of Ye Olde Mill. Ye Olde Mill also houses an ice cream and milling museum, a restaurant, playground, picnic area and catch-and-release fish pond.
Named by Frommer’s as one of America’s 10 Best Ice Cream Factory Tours, Velvet’s Ye Olde Mill welcomes 150,000 visitors each year for tours, tastings and events. The annual Ice Cream Festival (May 23-25, 2015), group tour experiences and school learning field trips are among the many draws to Ye Olde Mill, which is open to the public April 20-October 31.
